About

Yoga supports mental health in children, promoting a calm focused mind, encouraging self discipline and perseverance.  Yoga helps children with their physical development helping to build strength, enhancing flexibility and balance.  Yoga provides an opportunity for children to relax within a non competitive environment boosting confidence and building positive self image.  All children can benefit from Yoga as it is all-inclusive with classes and postures adapted to different abilities.  Yoga has been proven to be beneficial in supporting children with special educational needs.

A Yoga Child class will include a warm up, easy yoga postures, stretching and a fun game before ending with a final relaxation including a breathing exercise.  Themed classes are available for example, Jungle Animals or a class based around the theme of kindness or appreciation.  Mindfulness yoga workshops for children to give emotional support and strategies to use are also available eg. during exam time  or when changing schools.
